SME 2021 Report
Historical research shows many small to medium-skilled trades employers lack digital/computer literacy skills and an overall human resource presence. Therefore, these employers may be missing out on valuable information available through the internet and community connections. Prior to the pandemic, there was a skilled trades shortage, many sectors showing low employment rates and an ageing workforce connected to a lack of newly employed manufacturing and construction apprentices.
With this knowledge, Workforce Planning Hamilton began the process of engaging with small to medium-skilled trades employers throughout the Hamilton region by phone-based appointments and providing follow up material to support relevant and useful information about pre-apprenticeship programs in Hamilton. As a result, Workforce planning Hamilton has successfully completed the SME 2021 project for your organizations to review.
